한국과 미국의 디지털 시니어가 주축이 된 국제포럼이 2022년 7월 8일 오후에 대구 그랜드호텔에서 열렸다. 이번 포럼의 주제인 "아날로그인에서 디지털인으로의 변화("Transforming Analog Citizens to Digital Citizens)"를 중심으로 한국과 미국의 디지털에 익숙한 활동적인 시니어들(Active Digital Seniors)이 참여하였다. 이 포럼은 세 차례의 전체 발표회와 한 차례의 특별 공연으로 이루어졌다.

이번 ADS 국제포럼의 발표는 이렇게 이루어졌다.

첫째 발표회에서는 미국 City University of Seattle의 Ms. Morgan Zantua가 "인공지능과 소프트웨어를 통한 평생교육"에 대해서 주제 발표를 맡았다. Zantua 씨는 자신은 70대 중반인데도 현역으로 활동하고 있다며 디지털 시니어가 되기 위해서는 새로운 기술을 그대로 받아들이는 것이 중요하다고 강조하였다. Zantua의 발표에 대해서 Southern Illinois University의 Dr. Taeho Yoh와 City University of Seattle의 Dr. Sion Yoon이 패널 토의를 맡았다.

둘째 발표회에서는 김준한 군자마을상상연구공간 원장이 "전통콘텐츠의 가치"를 발표하면서 전통문화의 가치는 바로 국격이라고 주장하여 박수를 받았다. 이어서 권종대 한국ADS문화예술교육봉사단 회장이 "ADS 활동과 SW가치 확산 활동"에 대해서 발표하면서 시니어에 의한 시니어를 위한 디지털 기술과 문화예술교육 활동을 소개하여 공감을 얻었다. 그리고 임동완 ADS무진토스트마스터즈 설립자가 "디지털인의 평생교육"에 대해서 소개하였다.

셋째 발표회에서는 임귀희 한국인성예절교육원 원장이 "SW가치 확산을 위한 전통놀이의 재발견"에 대하여 발표하고 그 내용에 따라 전통놀이를 실습하면서 예법을 익히는 시간을 가졌다.

끝으로 박민재 스트림칸타빌레 예술감독이 "문화예술과 시니어"에 대해서 발표하였다. 박 감독이 노래를 좋아하는 소수의 시니어가 결성한 스트림칸타빌레의 결성과 활동을 소개하고 세 명의 시니어가 나와서 각각 성악을 연주하였다.

미국 측 참가자는 9일에 안동을 방문하여 한국의 전통문화를 탐방한다.

이번 국제포럼에는 경북대학교 SW교육원 교직원, 미국 시애틀 시티대학교 교수 일행, STREAM Institute 직원, (사)한국인성예절교육원 직원, 한국ADS문화예술교육봉사단 회원, STREAM Cantabile봉사단원, ADS무진Toastmasters 회원, 경북대학교 WFK ICT 2022 대학생 봉사단원 등 80여 명이 참석하였다.

Active Digital Seniors International Forum Held

"Global Digital X 2022 International Forum" was held on July 8th, 2022 at the Grand Hotel in Daegu led by active digital seniors from Korea and the United States. Focusing on the theme of this Forum, "Transforming Analog Citizens to Digital Citizens," active digital seniors participated in the Forum. It was made up of three sessions and one special performance.

The sessions and performance of this ADS International Forum was made like this.

At the first session, Ms. Morgan Zantua gave a presentation on "Life-long Education through Artificial Intelligence and Software." Ms. Zantua is active even though she is in her mid-70s, and she stressed the importance of embracing new technology to become a digital senior. Regarding Zantua's presentation, Dr. Taeho Yoh at Southern Illinois University and Dr. Sion Yoon at City University of Seattle took charge of the panel discussion.

At the second session, Mr. Kim Joonhan, director of the Gunja Village Imagination and Creation Lab presented “the Value of Traditional Contents,” receiving applause for claiming that the value of traditional culture is the national dignity. Then, Kwon Jong-dae, president of the Korea Active Digital Seniors for Art, Culture, and Education, spoke on "ADS Activities and SW Value Diffusion Activities." He introduced such activities as digital technology, culture, arts and education for seniors performed by seniors, getting big sympathy. Lastly Prof. Lim Dong-wan, founder of ADS Mujin Toast Masters, introduced “Life-long Education for Digital Citizens.”

At the third session, Ms. Lim Gwi-hee, director of the Korea Personality and Manners Education Center. presented on "Rediscovery of Traditional Games to Spread the Value of Software" and then had time to learn manners while practicing traditional games according to her presentation.

Finally, Mr. Park Min-jae, artistic director of Stream Cantabile, presented on "Culture and Arts with Seniors." Mr. Park introduced the formation and activities of Stream Cantabile, which was formed by a small number of seniors who liked vocal music. and three seniors performed vocal music one by one.

The US participant will visit Andong on the 9th to explore the traditional culture of Korea.

Some 80 participants attended the forum including faculty members at Kyungpook National University SW Education Center, a group of professors from City University of Seattle, STREAM Institute Staff, Korea Personality and Manners Education Center Staff, members of Korea Active Digital Seniors for Art, Culture, and Education, STREAM Cantabile Volunteers, members of ADS Mujin Toastmasters, university student volunteers of Kyungpook National University WFK ICT 2022.
